Its’ Great to Be a Ghost (Alt Version)

Pablo is in the backyard. He introduces himself to the viewer as a ghost. Uniqua and Tyrone enters the backyard to play hide-and-go-seek. Pablo sips a beer.  Lobby girl, with a college girl friend, are at the end of the door.  They are drawing on a piece of paper.  Uniqua and Tyrone move to kiss them but Juanita stares them down.  She and Pablo stare at each other.  Pablo mocks the other woman’s confidence.  Lobby Girl is taken aback.  Tyrone mockingly assumes leadership.

Pablo sneaks behind them and scares them. He explains to the two that he's a ghost. Uniqua decides to become a ghost, and asks Tyrone if he wants to be one. Tyrone is uncomfortable. They sing "It's Great to Be a Ghost!" as they encourage him to join them. The backyard transforms into a dark, misty landscape where is a haunted house.

The three of them are standing in what was once La Cheta's great dusky great room.  We see all of the furniture that used to be there, but now it is in the ghostly home.  They all sit down in the chairs and walk around.  The room and furniture changes in shape as they do so.  Pablo steps out from behind a chair and laughs.  The room goes back to its original shape and the three continue to act out their El Corazon.  It looks like they’ve discovered a beautiful sweet spot in their house.

Pablo floats into a painting as Uniqua and Tyrone try to find him. They sift through the paintings, touching the vases, looking under the pieces of furniture.  Tyrone spots an old cabinet.  He slowly opens it and carefully finds a false bottom.  It’s full of money.  Pablo emerges from the painting, like some kind of miracle.  He has made it appear from the painting on the wall.  Tyrone looks in amazement.

Uniqua goes to the living room, turns invisible and sways in the air, laughing. Uniqua scares the boys by picking a candlestick. Tyrone is about to practice, but tenses up.  The candle begins to float.  Everything begins to tremble. They open it and predict that it is an unsuspecting stranger. They shout "Boo!", but realize that the stranger is Tasha.

Tasha tells the trio that she is nailing the candlestick to the wall.  On the ground, Uniqua, on all fours, moves up from where she stands and clamps her foot firmly onto the candlestick.  We hear the panel yelping from the noise.  The others hear it too.  Pablo, Tyrone and Uniqua calm down.  Suddenly, the hall lights go out in front of them.  The winged panel starts to turn.  Everyone goes back to the center of the room while singing "What's So Scary 'Bout That?".

The ghosts tell her that their plan actually was scaring her and they have been trying to scare her since she told them about her fear of nothing. They suggest playing "Hide-and-Go-Boo" (a ghost version of hide-and-go-seek) to prove that she is truly napping.  Their words are muffled by only a short distance of brick wall separating them from her.  Her head tips back and she is slipping unconsciously into her cocoon like she is falling asleep in the day napping herself.

They sing "Hide and Go Boo" as they get into hiding places. However, Tyrone can’t hide and leaves the cover of a rock and gets run over by the car.  The car careens off the track.  Tasha finds Pablo in a painting, and Pablo does not scare her.  Tasha enters the library and finds a "floating" book. Uniqua is actually holding it, but she is invisible. Tasha tries to take the book, and they fight over the book until Uniqua gives up and exposes herself.

Meanwhile, Tyrone is screaming "Where’s the damn ambulance?!"  No ambulance.  He continues to scream as the car rolls on by him.  Tyrone runs to Tasha and attempts to give her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.  tahitas eyes flutter, but she’s obviously dead.  Pablo gives Tasha a huge hug as her legs give out.  The painting shows Tasha lying down on the library floor.  She appears like a normal person to the eternally curious old lady, until the truck drives by and slams into her.  It skids to a stop.  Uniqua is very mad as she turns to the stack of books.  She knows that she is dead.

Tyrone is upstairs. He sings "When i'm Booin'" as he explains that he probably will lose the game. He puts his hand on a wall. The wall slides into a bedroom and Tyrone accidentally falls under a white sheet. He looks in the mirror and thinks that a giggle deserves a title and "The Best is Yet to Come."After a few tests, he finally realizes that he is the "ghost".

Uniqua, Pablo, and Tasha walk upstairs. The wall slides and Tyrone sways out of the room. Tasha pushes Uniqua and Pablo over and runs. Uniqua and Pablo follow. Tyrone cowers behind a book case.  Uniqua, in the next doorway to the main room, sees some squatters going up the stairs and runs up.  They come upon Eloise and Maria.  Uniqua spies Tyrone with t.v. camera.  Pablo rushes to the fireplace and sees the Lamented over heaps of bodies.

Uniqua and Pablo float through the door to escape, but Tasha is left inside. She runs into a door and screams. The sheet falls off of Tyrone as Uniqua and Pablo enter again. They tell Tasha that there is nuthin' on earth that can stop her from finding her daughters.  Boom style.

Tasha admits that she was afraid of him. Pablo tells them that it is great to be in a haunted house. a spooky voice responds saying "It's ghoulish.  It's full of nasty surprises and bad luck."  He disappears for a moment and Tasha sees the grim reaper (sebastian) standing by the swamp.  He has whiteish hair and has white skin.

Pablo nervously invites them all over for apples at his house. The rest of the gang accepts and run off the haunted house as it transforms back into the backyard. They enter Pablo's house. Tyrone opens the previously closed door and shouts "bobo" from inside.

The kids watch from inside as Pablo tucks the alcohol into the fridge, throws it away, and moves to the back door.  As the doors are closing, he opens them a second time and lets in a happy shriek from the others, loud enough to fill the entire yard.  Everybody jumps back.
